Privacy Policy
This policy explains what MacroPlate (https://macroplate.app) collects, why, and who it's shared with. We keep as little as we can. There are no accounts and we don't sell your data.
What we collect
- Your quiz answers: goal, sex, age, height, weight, optional body fat percentage, activity level, diet, allergies, foods you dislike, cuisines, cooking time, plan length, and budget. Some of this is health-related, so we only use it to build your plan.
- Payment details: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us your email address, the amount paid, and whether the payment succeeded.
- Your email address: when you pay (we email your full plan to it), or when you ask us to email you a plan.
- Usage data: pages visited and steps completed (for example, "started the quiz" or "started checkout"), the referring site, and general device and browser information. See "Analytics and advertising" below.
How we use it
- To calculate your calorie and macro targets and write your meal plan.
- To take payment, deliver your plan, and send it to you by email.
- If you subscribe, to write and email you a new plan each week from the same answers.
- To answer support requests and handle refunds.
- To understand which pages and ads bring people to the site, and improve it.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers, each only for the job described:
- Anthropic (AI model provider) receives your quiz answers to generate your plan. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models.
- Stripe processes payments. If you subscribe, your quiz answers are stored with your subscription in Stripe so we can write your weekly plans.
- Resend delivers our emails, including your plan, and receives mail sent to our support address.
- Analytics and ad platforms (Plausible, Meta, and Pinterest), when enabled, as described below.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Analytics and advertising
We use Plausible Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or collect personal data, to count visits. We may also use the Meta Pixel and the Pinterest Tag to measure whether our ads lead to sign-ups and purchases. These tools can set cookies and share browsing activity on this site with Meta and Pinterest, who may use it to show you ads. We never send them your quiz answers. You can limit this through your browser's privacy settings, an ad blocker, or the ad preferences in your Meta and Pinterest accounts.
Our emails contain a small tracking image and links that pass through our email provider, so we can tell whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. We use this only to check that plans are delivered and to improve our emails. You can avoid it by turning off image loading in your email app.
How long we keep it
- Your answers and plan are stored in a database on our server. Plans that haven't been paid for are deleted within about 2 hours (a little longer if you open checkout). Paid plans, with your email address, are kept for about 24 hours so you can reload the page or have the plan emailed, then deleted. We email you a copy when you pay; you can also download it.
- Subscription details, including your quiz answers, stay in Stripe while your subscription is active and afterwards as Stripe requires for its records.
- Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, or cancel your subscription, by emailing support@notifications.macroplate.app. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK, or California), you may have additional rights under local law, which we'll honor.
Children
MacroPlate is not intended for children under 13, and the quiz does not accept ages under 13. Anyone under 18 should use it with a parent or guardian.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date below. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
